THE LIFE ACADEMY WAY!

LIGHTS! CAMERA! ACTION!

Student art exhibition @Spring in Dumbo.

Several students had the opportunity to display their art pieces at a professional gallery in Dumbo. The generous owners of Spring proudly held an opening gala for our talented students. Thank you to Mr. Patterson for organizing this amazing show.

Welcome to LAHS News, a student newscast Produced by Life Academy's Senior class in December 2010.

As an ISA school, we deeply believe in the personalization and support of our students. Our LIFE Connections Advisory Program will be designed to support students in their educational goals by providing a curriculum that is geared towards youth development, positive youth outcomes, and social skill building. Our advisory program will be a place of youth connections and outreach. It is through this program that team teachers (advisors) will interact with students to support them in being successful members of LIFE Academy and teach skills and strategies for them to learn and uphold our schools honor code at all times. We believe that our students enter with a basis for learning and development and through activities designed to discuss self awareness and positive behaviors, our students will always REACH for EXCELLENCE. Our advisors will consistently provide the supports and activities to develop habits of work throughout their freshman year and beyond in order to support the LIFE of our student honor code.

All students will complete the 44 NYS credit requirements for graduation. In accordance with NYS graduation requirements, all students will take and pass 5 Regents Examinations in Math, English, Living Environment, Global History, and US History with a score of 65 or higher. Students will complete four yearly benchmark exit projects through the support of LIFE Connection Advisories. Each yearly exit project will infuse inquiry-based activities, writing samples, and evidence of rigor as an indicator of a college preparatory education. Projects will be displayed and highlighted throughout the school and as a part of school-wide celebratory activities.

Hello my name Aleksi and Im life academy hs student. As a fresh man i feel the need that our school and all the other schools should think about having a rugby team for our patriots. I think that kids will enjoy the experience and learn about rugby. Many high schools in brooklyn have rugby teams and we could play them and represent our school. So if u or whoever reads this massege pleas talk to mr caps and discuss about my comment for having a rugby team. peace i hope we have a rugby team in september.
